The 7th SOX Zine Festival will gather over 80 participating zines for this year’s highly anticipated event in the Soccsksargen region. This year boasts the largest number of participating ziners in the event's history.

Set to take place on November 30, 2024, at the New Brighton School campus in Barangay Dadiangas West, General Santos City, the festival is hosted by the Sarangani Writers League (SWL) and co-hosted by the New Brighton School of the Philippines, Inc., and Aklat Alamid.

Since its inception in 2017, the SOX Zine Festival has become an annual gathering of creators, readers, and supporters of zines and independent publications in Soccsksargen. It continues to serve as a platform for emerging writers, readers, and publishers in the region.

“We are excited to showcase the literary talent of our region. This event is important for highlighting our literary community, giving them a platform to express their voices,” said SWL Executive Director Genory Vanz Alfasain.

The event will feature participating organizations and indie publishers, including Maratabat: MSU GenSan Writers Guild, Cotabato Literary Circle, The SOX Writers Collective, Timog Literary Circle, Sigaw Heneral, Words by the South, Sinyas, Payag Panulatan, Alitaptap Bookshop, and Tridax Zines.

In addition to showcasing and selling zines, the festival will also include a literary and publishing talk session, spoken word performances, games, and special recognition for outstanding writers from the region.
