ArtBound officially unveiled its first major art event, “Emergence: The Shape of Becoming,” on November 2 at the SM GenSan Activity Center.
The week-long exhibit, which runs until November 9, showcases the works of 14 promising visual artists from General Santos City and neighboring areas.
The exhibit features a dynamic lineup of activities including live mural painting, art workshops, artist talks, and face painting sessions for children—designed to engage both seasoned art enthusiasts and curious newcomers.

According to the curatorial note, The Shape of Becoming delves into themes of transformation, identity, and artistic evolution. Each piece reflects the artists’ personal journeys, cultural heritage, and the vibrant creative spirit of Mindanao.
ArtBound GenSan, the organizing collective behind the event, was founded with a mission to nurture and spotlight emerging local artists.
“We are a community bound by purpose—driven to give art deeper meaning and to inspire the next generation of creators,” said ArtBound President Jessa Mae "Jea" Nuñez-Fuentes.
By fostering a collaborative ecosystem, the group aims to elevate the city’s visual arts scene through exhibitions, workshops, and community-driven initiatives.
