Sarangani Writer Takes Oath as National Literary Arts Representative

 


MANILA — Sarangani Writers League co-founder M.J. Cagumbay Tumamac was sworn on April 15 as a representative to the National Committee on Literary Arts (NCLA) during a ceremony at the Manila Metropolitan Theater.

Tumamac will serve as the assistant secretary and the representative for East and Southern Mindanao. His term runs through 2028.

The NCLA is one of the committees under the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the primary government agency responsible for Philippine arts and culture. NCCA Chairman and Executive Director Eric B. Zerrudo presided over the oath-taking for all arts committees.

Following the ceremony and a policy orientation, committee members began drafting initial plans for the NCCA’s annual competitive grants.

The NCLA leadership includes:

  • Noel Galon de Leon (Secretary & Western Visayas and Negros Island Region Representative)

  • Ariel S. Tabag (Northern Luzon Representative)
  • Joey Tabula (Central Luzon Representative)
  • Januar E. Yap (Central Visayas Representative)
  • Jenilyn V. Garcia (Eastern Visayas Representative)
  • Edbert Darwin A. Casten (South Luzon Representative),
  • Marc Gabriel B. Olaya (North and Central Mindanao Representative)
  • Ahmad Shaid J. Sallim (Western Mindanao and Bangsamoro Representative)
