KORONADAL CITY — The provincial government of South Cotabato officially launched the 60th Foundation Anniversary and the 27th Tnalak Festival during a media launching Monday at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center.
The launch introduced the official theme, “Our culture, Our Strength, Our Pride,” alongside the celebration's new logos, soundtrack and visual identity. The event was attended by provincial and municipal officials, cultural workers and media practitioners.
Vice Gov. Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr. emphasized the importance of honoring the province's diverse roots. He credited the region’s progress to the contributions of Indigenous Peoples, Muslim communities and settlers.
“Our celebration today reflects the journey of our people and the leadership of those who came before us,” Pingoy said. “We continue to enjoy peace and development because many individuals helped shape South Cotabato through generations.”
Pingoy also called on media members and vloggers to highlight the province's "true image" by showcasing its peaceful communities and tourism destinations. He encouraged content creators to use their platforms to display the harmony defining the province.
Festival Director Rudy S. Jimenea described the upcoming festivities as a tribute to the province’s history and shared aspirations.
“This celebration belongs to every South Cotabateño,” Jimenea said. “It reflects our culture, our stories and our continuing journey as one province.”
Organizers said the new visual designs represent resilience and unity. The Tnalak Festival, which honors the "dreamweavers" of the Tboli and Blaan communities, remains the province's premier annual cultural event. This year’s festivities mark six decades of governance and progress since the province’s founding.
